D4 Registration and Analysis of multimodale Datastreams
Project Leaders
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rainer Herpers, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Kolb
Initial Situation
Isolated Raman and IR spectra can be produces with a spatial coverage of approx. 1-5µm² per pixel. At first no classical registration procedures can be applied to index such multimodal, complex 2D data. Current diffeomorphic image registration methods only present themselves as solutions when there is sufficient two-dimensional structure information.
Aims and Work Program
Within the framework of this sub-project, registration procedures and multimodal spectral image information is to be researched and developed first, so that different pieces of multimodal information can be assigned with high spatial accuracy to equal location coordinates. The focal point here lies in the registration of multispectral Raman and IR microscopy, so that quantitative statements about the spatial distribution of chemical substances can be derived. In subsequent processing steps multimodal analyses are to be systematically carried out in order to derive quantifiable parameters to identify the substances at hand.
